Saigon Central Post Office
Bưu điện Trung tâm Sài Gòn: A relic of the French colonial period, the old Central Post Office is a landmark in downtown Saigon, next to the Roman Catholic Notre Dame Basilica. Completed in 1891, I don’t know when the building got its yellow face lift. It is definitely not yellow in older photos.
Tall Ships, Saigon
There are a couple of shops near the Saigon Opera House selling sailing ship models. There may be others elsewhere in the city. I don’t know where the models are made or by whom, but they are quite impressive.

This boy was attending a rock music festival – cannot recall the name of the event – for a number of years an annual music show in Beijing during the May Day holiday. Local and foreign bands, though no big name acts. I went for the photos, the music was mostly noisy and beyond an old timer like me. This festival is long gone. Too many bad elements and bad ideas, and definitely too much fun for the humorless old gangsters that run the country to tolerate.
