Gorgeous, Steve! I love that you use B&W to photograph a flower that is so over-the-top Flower when you see it in color. It kind of strips the lily back down to its essence, making us appreciate its shape and structure.
With b&w film, the original image had no color information, only black, white, and shades of gray. Digital files contain color information, which in this case I removed during processing. I like the black and white image because, yes, the focus is on composition and form. The color image of these lilies is lovely, but the focus is on the color and the beauty of the flowers.
