Imperial Architecture, Beijing - 27 November 2008
Beijing's Yonghegong (the Lama Temple) began it's life in 1694 as the court of the Qing Dynasty prince who later became the Yongzheng Emperor. The walled compound was converted to a lamasery for Tibetan monks in 1744. All of the buildings in the compound are in the Ming and Qing dynasties' architectural style, so many examples of which are still to be seen in Beijing.
