At one of the stock sites I work with, there is a request for images of a place called Fahai Temple in Beijing. Not one to pass up the chance to make a buck, I headed out to the western suburbs of Beijing with my camera. Unfortunately for my bank account, the temple is currently being restored. Although parts of it are more or less complete and accessible, the supervisor of this work crew harassed me mercilessly when I tried to get in to take some pictures. I got a few shots of dubious value, but finally gave in to authority and left. The boss may have been a jerk, but on my way out I discovered the workers were happy to knock off and mug for the foreigner with a camera. |
