Google announced yesterday that it will host its Chinese language search engine in
Hong Kong outside of China's internet firewall. Several bouquets - expressions of support and admiration from
Chinese users - remain outside of Google's Beijing headquarters today. Google's motives were no doubt complicated
and, perhaps, not entirely righteous, but nothing is black and white in the real world. Google's decision is
nonetheless a slap in the face to the vicious thugs who rule this country and for that Google is to be
congratulated. Don't be evil indeed. |
